A Wedding Venue...Just Maybe.

Let me start by saying I am a terrible blogger - I'm working on this. I open up google reader and by the time I finish reading my daily reads, laziness sets in. Ladies and Dad, I'm going to start making more time!

Last weekend for the 4th we went to Austin to Jody and Dustin's lake house - which was so much fun! On Saturday we ventured out to this little vineyard/winery in the hills next to Lago Vista to have lunch.

The food was amazing and the property was gorgeous, so I started thinking...

Wedding venue, maybe?

There is this lovely and whimsical pecan grove that I just love because of the surrounding scenery and the way the trees drape down. I would love to get married underneath this tree.

*Sidenote: I'm not sure if you can tell because the picture is so dark, but look closely. I'm waving my hands around spitting out all kinds of ideas and GUSHING over this pecan grove, and Ryan is just scratching his head. Hilarious.

At the top of the hill, a short walk up from *my* pecan grove, is a big open-air stone pavilion. Love this.

A view from one side of the pavilion. One side is vineyard and the other is hilly gorgeousness.

[Picture it without the standing water and random arrangement of patio furniture.}

I think I may love it.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

  6. Absolutely gorgeous! I love it! If you like gorgeous scenery and wineries, also check out Mendola Winery in Dripping Springs. They have a website. The wine is fabulous, the restaurant is amazing and the view and scenery are breathtaking.

  7. I think this would be a PERFECT spot for a wedding and reception - we had our reception at a winery and it was perfect. So scenic and a perfect spot for pictures and watching the sun set. You can also do lots of neat things with decor in that open air pavillion. Also - the pecan tree is gorgeous, but can you imagine it being even more beautiful with little twinkle lights, paper lanterns, or glass lanterns for a wedding ceremony??

  8. Do you have a date or at least time of year in mind yet? Maybe spring or fall when it's not too hot... in the evening for the ceremony so you can have all the beautiful views in the background and for your pictures, but the reception should go on into the night so you can do the twinkle lights, lanterns, etc. like your friend Sara mentioned above. Yeah, that would be gorgeous!
