As long as I've lived here I've never watched the runners. It was so inspiring to see all of these people crossing the finish line. I've never seen anything like it. I felt so lazy that I decided on the spot to try the half next year. You've got to start somewhere, right?
Carter ran the 3k kids fun run on Saturday before the grown up race. He was so determined to be first, but there were "big kids" who outpaced him, so he said "maybe next year" and had a blast.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend.
Getting ready for the kids run!
Mom and Dad ran it with him.
Picking up the bib for Sunday.
Waiting with signs at the 12-mile mark. It was freeeeezing.
Waiting at the finish line with a HUGE, melty Dora ice cream. I got half of it on my hair. :)
About 50 steps from the finish line!
Carter REALLY wanted to cross the finish line with his Dad, so...
We threw him over the railing and they crossed the finish line together. Look at that face - so excited!
What an accomplishment! I'm so proud of him.

OH, Alyssa darling, those last two pictures are Classic!
