Surviving Summer: A Few Favorites

This is an extremely random post, but I have to give shout outs to some products that are making my life better these days. I have found a ton of new and interesting products/ideas via blogs, so this is me paying it forward.


Have you heard of SHEEX sheets? They are basically made out of the same material as Under Armour type workout clothes (think: designed to stay cool). These are awesome, y'all. Can you imagine never having to feel around for a cool spot in the sheets because all spots are cool? Plus, they are completely wrinkle resistant so each time you put them on it's like they've been ironed. I am in LOVE. I don't think we will ever go back to regular sheets.

I recently started using MD Forte glycolic face wash because I have extremely breakout-prone skin during the summer due to sunscreen use and sweating profusely all. the. time. Just like any other glycolic cleanser, it exfoliates so the top layer of everything (dead skin, dirt, oil, etc) is removed with each wash. I like this one because it is a cream, so it isn't as drying as some of the foamy ones I've tried. There are 3 levels and I jumped straight to III - don't be scared.

 

We've been doing the paleo diet (ahem...during the week at least) for a few months now, and I have gotten very sick of the choices that a non-processed, no grain, no dairy, limited fruit diet has to offer. I found this green salsa at Whole Foods and I now put it on evvvvvverything. It's cucumber, avocado, peppers, and spices. It's so refreshing for summer and I think if they ever stop making it I will cry.

On that note, I took a brief hiatus from our diet to make the Pioneer Woman's Italian cream cake cupcakes (recipe here). Let me tell you, this is a ton of work, but so worth it. I made several dozen of them one night and it was a true labor of love. They were melt in your mouth delish and a huge hit!

Ok, back on track. I finally took the lululemon plunge and got the turbo run shorts. Basically they're half of my new summer uni. I wear them to work out, but I shamelessly wear them pretty much everywhere else too. They are airy and breezy and super flattering. I need 100 pair.
